If you've seen any of the Transformers films in theaters then you've experienced the thrill of CGI effects, beautiful women and the fast, hot rod cars. The films used luxury cars, among to draw in a genre of audience, many of whom left the theaters still drooling at the mouth. For those of you that loved the movie for its high-tech model cars, here are a list of some of the vehicles used, luxury cars that you could own:
Bumble Bee
This loveable character began in the first Transformers film as a 1976 Camaro. The filmmakers are said to have bought Bumble Bee's 1976 vehicle on an online auction for under $6,000. After gaining attention during the film, the refurbished Bumble Bee sold for 40,000 on eBay.
In the most recent film, The Edge of Extinction, Bee begins as a 67 Camaro SS. In superb condition, the SS is worth approximately $60,000. Eventually in Edge of Extinction, Bee gets himself an upgrade and becomes the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Concept, a yellow hot-rod with a V6 engine and 312 horsepower. While this next generation Camaro was just a preview for what Chevrolet plans to release this year, the older generations such as the 2011, 2012 and 2013 are available at an affordable price used. Luxury has a whole new meaning with a car like Bumble Bee, with his leather interior and intimidating exterior, it's no wonder why Bee is the franchise's fans' favorite character.
Drift
Making his debut in the most recent film starring Mark Wahlberg, Drift is a former Decepticon that fights evil as a samurai. He is quite possibly the coolest vehicle on the Autobots team. The 2013 Bugatti Veryon Grand Sport Vitesse premiered as the world's fastest super car, reaching speeds over 250 mph. Purchased new, the Veryon is worth more than $2 million, but a pre-owned, older generation Bugatti closer to $1 million.
Rolls Royce Vorsteiner Ghost
In "Edge of Extinction" corporate billionaire, Joshua Joyce, played by Stanley Tucci, drives the Rolls Royce Vorsteiner Ghost. This is the ultimate car with both speed and luxury, the Ghost boasts a twin-turbo V12 engine, moving from zero to sixty in less than five seconds and reaching 155 mph with ease. The carbon fiber exterior keeps it light and durable, purchasing a Rolls Royce is a hefty penny and may be a better purchase as a used luxury car. For approximately $200,000 you could own a pre-owned 2010 Ghost in "like-new" condition.
If you are a fan of the "Transformers" franchise, or at least a fan of the vehicles used, Luxury cars featured in the movies are available both online and with high end dealerships. From the Bugatti to the Rolls Royce and the Camaro, the film offers an array of fantastic automobiles. Investing in a pre-owned, and the older generation vehicle is an affordable way to drive in style. Who knows, maybe you will stumble upon a real Transformer in the process (let's just hope it is an Autobot and not a Decepticon).
